9 June 2016 International Archives Day Bangladesh (IADB) should be celebrated with special attention to Dr. Mahbubur Rahman’s Heritage Archives Bangladesh History (HABH). Please take a look at the most helpful and attractive website:  http://heritagearchivesbd.com/ HABH is a milestone in Bangladeshi Archival History: started in 1999 by prof. dr. Mahbubur Rahman in Rajshahi Kazla Gate. Partially inspired by Mahabub’s cooperation with the  Dutch prof. dr. Willem van Schendel; interviewing many persons in Bengal / Bangladesh relevant for social and political and cultural history of Bengal and Bangladesh. Acquiring important magazines, books and archival collections for social, economic, cultural and political history of Bengal / Bangladesh as a whole and in Bengal regions and also about local history. Prof. Mahbubur and his helpers like Moonlight, Yasin, Tofael, Youssuf Shikdher and several more, offer the researchers most helpful facilities to conduct their research. In whole Bangladesh you will find individuals and sometimes small groups of historians, either students of Dr. Mahabub or researchers in the Heritage Archives Bangladesh History in Kazla Gate. In this way Barm Society as well as Bangladesh Itihas Samiti for example may be grateful to dr. Mahabbur’s initiative. Important is how can the future and further development of this most important institution become secure? IADB should highlight this question.
