An International Conference on the importance of history and culture of Bengal was held on 28 of August by the Itihas Academy with main speaker prof. dr. Anisuzzaman of the Bangla Department of Dhaka University. Hasanul Haq Inu, Minister of Information, was chief guest. Prof. Dr. Sharif was President of Liberation War & Bangladesh Itihas of War. Twenty-nine guests from India participated in this International Conference, mainly form Kolkata. Important subject was also preservation of history and as such planning to preserve the archives. Itihas Academy has now altogether 391 Bangladeshi and foreign members.

BARMS was highlighted by prof. Sharif as wel as the members of BARMS and its connections with Dutch BARM. This year BARMS wants to celebrate its historical & archives activities. For this reason a website is under construction.
