Partition Archive 1947 of the Indian Subcontinent

The 1947 Partition Archive, a project at the University of California, Berkeley, that is recording oral histories of the period when British India was dividing into India and
Pakistan, was featured in a major story in the New York Times.  For the project
website, with links to press coverage, see url. The mission statement of The Partition Archive community is as follows: “We are concerned global citizens committed to preserving this chapter of our collective history. We come from diverse cultural and religious backgrounds, nationalities, and professions. It is our view that a strong foundation in history will pave the way for a more enlightened future for the subcontinent and hence the world“.
