Bangladesh School for Archives & Records Management (BARM Center)

Basic and further education in Archivistics in Bangladesh is most urgently needed. Courses should be given to secretaries of paurashava’s, secretaries of Upa Zila’s, record keeping staff of District Collectorate Record Rooms (the 17 old or “British” DCRR’s of Rangpur, Dinajpur, Rajshahi, Pabna, Jessore, Khulna, etc.; staff members of the National Archives, record keepers of the ministerial departments in Dhaka, the city corporations of Dhaka, Chittagong, Khulna, Sylhet, Barisal,  Rajshahi, Comilla etc. the record keeping staff of the 6 Divisional and the 64 District Record Rooms, Bangladesh Railways, BRTC, BIWTC. Yet also to record keeping staff of banks, business companies, garments factories, schools, hospitals, NGO’s, Trade Unions, Religious Foundations, Trusts etc. A course program for archival studies for students  in general also could be useful.
